The Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (GVHS) supports the breed by recognizing achievement, encouraging participation, and promoting education across all levels of involvement. GVHS provides clear pathways for members to grow with their horses through programs focused on youth, show recognition, and horse evaluation. Through certification, affiliate partnerships, and annual events, GVHS fosters a connected and informed community dedicated to the future of the Gypsy Vanner.

GVHS Show Points Award Program
Rewards Gypsy Vanner horses competing in approved shows with points and year-end rankings, recognizing performance throughout the show season.
Supports youth involvement through education, events, and scholarships that encourage horsemanship and engagement with the Gypsy Vanner breed.
A voluntary program that assesses a horse’s conformation and performance to support breeding decisions, education, and registration advancement.
Rewards participation in public events that promote the breed, with points earned for activities such as parades, demonstrations, and community appearances.
Affiliate Programs
GVHS partners with select organizations to recognize Gypsy Vanners competing outside of breed-specific events. Through these affiliate programs, members can participate in a variety of disciplines while earning GVHS recognition based on their performance. Current partnerships include Equine Trail Sports, the USDF All-Breeds Program, Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA), and Working Equitation. Additional partnerships are in the planning phase as the program continues to expand. These affiliations highlight the versatility of the Gypsy Vanner across a wide range of equestrian activities.

Other Programs and Policies
Provides a pathway for experienced horse show judges to become GVHS carded judges through application, training, and certification.
Provides a structured and fair process for resolving disputes within GVHS. Formal grievances are reviewed by the Grievance Committee, which evaluates each case, conducts investigations, and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors.
