Official Registry for the Gypsy Vanner Horse est. 1996

The GVHS recognizes the Gypsy Vanner classes in the following shows for year end show point awards in 2013.  More shows may be added.  If you have a show you would like to be considered as a points earning show for the GVHS year end awards, contact the GVHS office with the show information.

GVHS Show Points Award Program

Near the beginning of each year the GVHS board of directors approves a list of recognized GVHS shows for the year.
These are the shows that will accumulate points for GVHS registered horses owned by GVHS members, and for GVHS youth Members.  Additional shows may be approved and added throughout the year.

The following awards are presented annually:

High Point Gypsy Vanner Horse and Reserve High Point Gypsy Vanner Horse

High Point Performance Gypsy Vanner Horse and Reserve High Point Performance Gypsy Vanner Horse

High Point Halter Gypsy Vanner Horse and Reserve High Point Gypsy Vanner Horse

High Point Youth and Reserve High Point Youth

Points are assigned based on placement of first through 6^th place.  1 point for 6^th,  2 for 5^th, 3 for 4^th, 4 for 3^rd, 5 for 2^nd and 6 points for 1^st place
in each class.   ½ point is also given if there is only one entry in the class.
For a Champion award 5 points are given,  and 3 points are given for Reserve Champion.  Supreme Champion is given an additional 5
points.

• Points are only given for classes at the approved shows.
• Points are only given for classes for purebred Gypsy Vanners (may include other Gypsy “types”  Cob/Horse)
• Classes where the Gypsy Vanner is competing directly with another breed such as a class for Friesians/Gypsy Vanners/Drum Horses
  all in the ring, does not qualify as a breed class for show points.  This type of class should be submitted under the Vanner Advantage Program.
