To register your horse:
2. Unless you are the owner of both the sire and the dam of the horse being registered, include a Breeding Certificate , OR if this is an imported horse send a copy of the import documents. These can be emailed, or faxed to 940-234-1300, or send in the regular mail.
3. Email, or mail the registration photos required on all horses. One from each side, one from the front, one from the rear. How to take Photos for Registration. Each photo must be less then 1MB in size and labeled with the horses name.
4. Pay the appropriate registration fee. (See the schedule of fees). For your convenience there are 3 ways to pay. In the GVHStore using a credit or debit card, through paypal, or mail in a check payable to GVHS, P.O. Box 65, Waynesfield, OH 45896.
5. Once you have completed 1-4 above, the registrar will contact you regarding sending in the DNA sample. Once the lab receives the sample it can take up to 3 weeks for the office to receive the report. Once that report is received your registration will be completed.
The GVHS will accept DNA reports done by the approved GVHS lab through another registry. The GVHS must be provided with a copy of the report and a copy of the other registries registration certificate.
All DNA hair samples and DNA reports submitted in the course of registering a horse with the GVHS must be accompanied by the appropriate photos of the horse and any required fees.
It is the responsiblity of the person registering a horse to read and understand the complete rules before you submit your application for registration.
